The Freelancer

About The Freelancer

The Freelancer is student-run online news organization covering La Serna High School in Whittier, California. The Freelancer began as a traditional, print newspaper in the 1960s, but was banned in 2006 due to controversy. The Freelancer was revived in 2015 as an online-only news source and is created by a diverse group of student journalists.

Editorials, opinion pieces, and columns do not necessarily reflect the views of the entire Freelancer staff, the La Serna administration, or the Whittier Union High School District. Editorials written by a staff editor do not necessarily reflect the views of every staff writer.

This website is student-operated and all content is created by students. Neither the La Serna High School administration, nor any external groups, contribute to or directly edit content.

The adviser of The Freelancer is English teacher Gina Alexander, who can be reached for comments and suggestions by email or by visiting C205.
