The Shawshank Redemption

The Shawshank Redemption

Alexis Standley, Contributer

Written and directed by Frank Darabont, the 1994 movie The Shawshank Redemption is a true classic with Morgan Freeman playing as the man who knew how to get things and Tim Robbins as a banker who was convicted of a crime he did not commit.

This rated R movie is a story of people who made prison their home, and started a new life. When people spend a long period of time in prison and get released, it is like leaving home and not being able to go back or know where to go. The person’s life lies within the walls of what was once a place where they felt that they belonged.

The Shawshank Redemption shows the life of convicted criminals, how they live their lives, and get by on the inside. This movie is mainly about a banker who made the most of his prison experience by improving his environment with his only friend supporting him.

I recommend this movie because the main character is able to keep his cool throughout the trial and time behind bars. The movie rapidly a classic and deserves a continuing audience.
